Fresh Drinking Water for Dongobesh

Fresh Drinking Water for Dongobesh

April 26, 2025 0 By Bridge of Hope Ed.

Drinking water bubbles up from a depth of 150 meters. After the drilling of the borehole was completed in November 2024, solar panels and the pumps were purchased in the beginning of March. Many thanks to all donors! Without your great support, such rapid project progress would not have been possible.

Drilling a borehole more than 150 meters deep requires highly professional equipment. The founders of the water drilling company are two pastors from Arusha (see picture above together with Simone & Arnd Weil). Their calling is to provide people with water for life – physically and spiritually. Martin Tango, the director of LEA Ministry, has ordered a wider borehole – enough water not only for the school but also for the entire community. This way, the whole people of Dongobesh will benefit from this fresh water project.

The solar panels are mounted on the roof of the new boys dormitory:

We want to complete the water project in Dongobesh by mid 2025. The remaining work includes the installation of large water tanks into which water is continuously pumped up from the depths during the day when the sun is shining. The tanks are dimensioned so that not only the children of LEA Ministry schools but also the community of Dongobesh can draw fresh drinking water. Several thousand people in Dongobesh will benefit from this. In the seven years that we have been visiting Dongobesh regularly, the quality of the water supply has continued to deteriorate. Some rainy seasons have been postponed or have failed altogether. We are grateful that we can make a positive contribution to the health and hygiene of the entire community of Dongobesh with this activity.

And and children from LEA schools are very thankful:
