Three continents coming together – visiting LEA Ministry in Dongobesh / Tanzania with friends from Japan and Korea
It’s been a great privilege to have two former colleagues from Asia, Ted Kaneko from Japan and Byunghyun An (BH) from South Korea, joining my trip to Dongobesh in January 2020. Both had already supported the building work of the new girls dormitory. “Stiftung Perspektive Hoffnungsbrücke” includes sponsors from five countries in three different continents.
BH presented how South Korea has developed during his lifetime over the past 50 years from an agricultural state (very similar to actual Tanzania) to a high tech state with a leading edge global electronic industry. “You have to have a dream” was one of BH’s key messages to the pupils of the LEA Ministry Secondary School.
Ted challenged the pupils with some hands-on Japanese arts: Origami. How can a simple piece of paper be transformed into a crane? A couple of dozen steps require practical and creative skills. This was a great hands-on experience and all pupils succeeded under the supervision of Ted.
I want to personally thank Ted and BH for their support of LEA Ministry and the great time we enjoyed together while traveling through Tanzania!
