Bridge of Hope

After completing the girls’ dormitory in January 2021, the construction work has started for the boys dormitory building. This should be finished during first half of 2022. Then, finally, each child at LEA Ministry will have its own bed.

E-Learning in Tanzania – for many people this sounds like fiction. But in Africa, in particular, e-learning has great potential. One major problem, the lack of learning and teaching materials, can be addressed by leveraging digital media.

Digital literacy requires not only digital equipment, but also highly motivated, well trained teachers that can help the children to leverage digital media in their learning progress.

The new girl’s dormitory was officially opened in a ceremony with the District Commissioner of Mbulu, Dr. Chelestino Mofuga, on January 15. Over 200 girls from LEA Primary School will find her new home in this dormitory.

The construction of the new teacher house at Karama School is finished now despite delays due to the Corona crisis. This is another successful demonstration of the community participation at Karama School in Rukoma. Interview with Lein about improved teaching environment:

It’s been a great privilege to have two former colleagues from Asia, Ted Kaneko from Japan and Byunghyun An (BH) from South Korea, joining my trip to Dongobesh in January 2020. Both had already supported the building work of the new girls dormitory. “Stiftung Perspektive Hoffnungsbrücke” includes sponsors from five countries in three different continents.…

During our last trip to Dongobesh / Tanzania I had the chance to visit the home and parents of one of our sponsored children – Michael Thomas. Although his origin is from a very poor rural area called Yaeda Chini, he developed to an A-grade (equals to “excellent”) student at LEA Ministry Secondary School.
