Living at the edge of extreme poverty – and being happy
During our last trip to Dongobesh / Tanzania I had the chance to visit the home and parents of one of our sponsored children – Michael Thomas. Although his origin is from a very poor rural area called Yaeda Chini, he developed to an A-grade (equals to “excellent”) student at LEA Ministry Secondary School.
LEA Ministry to adopt the Digital Library from Next Generation Africa
An e-learning pilot project has just been started at LEA Ministry in Dongobesh. This project leverages the digital library solution developed by Next Generation Africa e.V.. This solution acknowledges the limitation that schools in South East Africa generally face: lack of learning and teaching materials, lack of Internet connectivity, lack of teachers.
New desks for Karama Primary School in Tanzania
162 new desks arrived at Karama School. A big Thank You to all sponsors that made this possible! Now, the two seater desks can serve two instead of four children. This is great progress providing a better learning environment for the children at Karama School.
New classrooms for Karama Primary School in Tanzania
Building new classrooms in a primary school can take a lot of time – not only in Africa, but also in Germany. I have never seen a construction of a public building being finished in less than 9 months – until we came to Tanzania.
